DID YOU KNOW?? Gomer Pyle was created by taking the first name of Gomer Cool and the last name of Denver Pyle, and the show was a spin-off of "The Andy Griffith Show!!!" It featured Gomer's final appearance in the series, though the previous episode was his final appearance with Barney Fife. "Gomer Pyle, USMC" ended after five seasons despite good ratings because Jim Nabors wanted to do a musical-variety show. He was in credible singer, so that made sense!
And meanwhile on PLANET FIREBALL... The Ball remembers friend and confidante, Actor FRANCESCO QUINN (Son of Anthony Quinn) who's career was cut short after his sudden death in 2011 in Malibu. He was a tremendous force in television with roles on "24," "PLATOON" & James Bond's "QUANTUM OF SOLACE." Also, VINTAGE FIREBALL on set for DUKES OF HAZZARD as a teenager! This was 1979!
