BUT DID YOU KNOW?? The Seaview's design was inspired by the anatomy and sleek lines of marine life, such as manta rays and porpoises. The submarine's dark upper and white bottom areas resemble a dolphin or shark, and its curved wing-like nose area resembles a manta ray. It was designed by production designer Jack Martin Smith and the Fox Concept Art Department. The models were originally sculpted in wood and plaster, then cast primarily in fiberglass!
