Good morning you QUIRKY QUARTERMASTERS and welcome to today's AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE! We celebrate today the life of good Fireball Friend GENE WINFIELD with a Tribute Launch of his original REACTOR Build! A legend on every level, Gene's commitment to creating Iconic Cars for Film, TV and Global Customers left behind an unmatched legacy. And this will be the first of many Fireball Whipsnaps to come...
DID YOU KNOW?? Gene built his first roadster in high school during World War II and never stopped. It was a 41 Ford in Japan while still in the Army. Originally from Modesto, California, Gene opened his first hot rod shop in a chicken coop in 1946! And one of his most famous creations was the Jade Idol, a 1957 Mercury, known for its unique paint job. He was also a part of the "American Graffiti" Car Parade in Modesto where he helped to inspire the film.
And meanwhile, ON PLANET FIREBALL... The Ball takes friend Kim to his original home in Palos Verdes with a Vintage Snap of Ma & Pa Ball in the exact spot in 1966!! Plus, more snaps from the Benedict Castle Concours with Tommy Scalera, HOT ROD HOLLY... and a super random happy Dude!
FEATURED ART from inside the Garage today includes GRANPA MUNSTER'S DRAGULA and THE DARK PHOENIX MUSTANG (with Horse Motif by Heather Edwards) and built by Carlos Molina for SEMA!
NEW COLORING BOOKS are coming to the B&N Store THIS WEEK! Fireball brings back his stellar STATION WAGONS Coloring Book as well as SHARKS! If you have a Car Museum, Store or Aquarium, reach out for nifty Wholesale Prices, too!
And lastly, WATCH BELOW as Fireball whipsnaps Gene's REACTOR at lightning Speed!
